Brewers Bay Beach is one of Tortolas true hidden gems. It’s not as popular as some of the other beaches like Smugglers Cove or Cane Garden Bay, but this makes it ideal for travelers who want to enjoy a peaceful and quiet day at the beach.

How To Get To Brewers Bay, BVI
Brewers Bay Beach is located on the northwest side of Tortola in the British Virgin Islands (BVI).
It’s an easy taxi or bus ride from almost anywhere on Tortola. Albeit the road in is quite steep and long.
Just take note, if you are getting here by taxi, make sure to schedule your taxi ride back, as there are no common taxi pickups directly from Brewers Bay Beach. Catching a bus to it is also quite simple.
Facilities/Parking
If you decide to drive instead of catching the bus or a taxi, no worries. There is free parking along the road available for the public with easy access to the beach.
Once you arrive, you’re rewarded with some of the best waters in all of the British Virgin Islands. Even better is the free admission to these sparkling turquoise waters.
Grab your snorkeling gear, your surfing gear, and your picnic basket because while there are a few amenities here, you won’t find major rental shops or fancy eateries along this isolated stretch of beach.
You can find typical amenities such as flush toilets and outdoor showers here, but you won’t find rental stores. Beach chairs and umbrellas can be found towards Nicoles Beach Bar.
Amenities may be limited here, but Mother Nature is not. So when it’s time to get away from the crowds that gather at other beaches in Tortola, head towards Brewers Bay Beach for a day soaking up the sun.
Things To Do At Brewers Bay
While there are limited amenities at Brewers Bay, Tortola, there is still plenty to do here. It’s one of the top beaches in the British Virgin Islands for snorkeling, scuba diving, and surfing. Its coral reefs and crystal clear waters are home to a variety of sea and plant life full of wonders waiting to be explored.
But what really keeps people talking about this dream beach spot, better known as Brewers Bay Beach, are the sea turtles. Duck down under the water near the gently swaying seagrass, and more often than not, you’ll be rewarded with views of sea turtles swimming right alongside you.
But that’s not all, stingrays are also quite common in these waters, so don’t be surprised if you catch a glimpse of a shadow swimming quickly away as you break through the water. Parrotfish, tarpons, snappers, and barracuda are some of the fish species here.
The best place to snorkel is towards the west, heading in the direction of Nicoles Beach Bar, as you’ll find a barrier reef towards this part. When you finish snorkeling, be sure to look up since Brewers Bay is home to many species of birds, making this a notable bird-watching site.
If you’re tired from snorkeling or celebrating by actually catching a wave on your surfboard, you can grab a bite from a local food truck that sits along the road. There are almost always a few food trucks selling local culinary creations.
You’ll definitely want to try some pates or johnny cakes. Nicoles Beach Bar is also pretty close and provides excellent entertainment with beautiful views of the beach.
Other Attractions
On other days when you want to explore the beautiful island of Tortola, you can find a plethora of attractions close to the beach. Since the island itself is only 12 miles long and 21 square miles total, nothing is too far from Brewers Bay Beach. The Mount Healthy National Park can teach you a thing or two about the island’s history and the Shark Bay National Park is another quiet place to explore.
